Robin Rowe

Course Facilitator

Robin Rowe is a screenwriter, a journalist, and has taught at two universities. More...

I'm leading a group of writers in a 1-month intensive. We'll cover loglines, treatments, scene cards, synopses, and reverse adaptations from screenplay into a novel, children's book, or graphic novel. The goal of this course is to help writers, including myself, write better treatments so we can write better screenplays faster and pitch story ideas better.

We're going to have a blast! Each week there will be a 1-hour conference call where I invite industry VIPs, people who get a lot of loglines and treatments, to ask what they like to see. I'm not going to say in advance who that will be because I don't want people in the course who are there to "get to" the VIPs. For anyone who doesn't know, every week for more than two years I've been getting the speakers for ScreenplayLab (www.ScreenplayLab.com).

We'll study treatments of today's major movies and television, then apply the lessons learned to our own screenplays. Each week we'll meet at a restaurant in Beverly Hills to go over our homework and have fun.

Our first conference call session is Oct. 1st from 5-6pm. After that session we'll stay on the line and hammer out a schedule for the rest of course that works best for everyone. Schedule is not an excuse for missing this course!
