ScreenplayLab Call for Actors!

We're always looking for new talent. The new RisingCast headshot database is on the web and automated. Email casting director Gabrielle Pantera <casting@risingcast.com> to get a secret code that will grant you access to upload your headshot. We're not accepting headshots by email anymore, but still have hundreds of actors who haven't uploaded to the new system, yet. Please update your headshots!

ScreenplayLab provides an opportunity to try new material and showcase your skills in front of a live audience. More than two dozen actors have found agent representation as a result of participating.

Actors are cast ahead of time by type off their headshot. There are no auditions and no rehearsals. Actors typically get pages a few days in advance of the reading. Sometimes cold. I look at our database of actors when casting. If you send a note to casting@risingcast.com midweek stating you're available and asking to be cast that can increase your chances. Also, coming to ScreenplayLab and reminding me you'd like to be cast can help.

ScreenplayLab holds a staged reading just about every week. We usually meet Sunday afternoons from 3pm-6pm. The reading is from 3-4:15. The second half of our program is an industry guest speaker. We read up to thirty pages, typically one act from a feature, or sometimes a sitcom.

During the feedback session the actors give feedback first (in case they need to leave).
